 Second Homes First knows how difficult it is to manage contractors from a distance. Unless someone is on top of the work being performed, it is often not done properly with shortcuts being taken on labor and materials. With our Contractor Management Service we are on the spot and able to follow the job from start to finish.
- Obtain Quotes - With local knowledge, we know the good contractors in the area. With every contract, we will obtain comparable quotes from reputable contractors making sure that the quotes are on an "apples to apples" basis.
- Make recommendations - All quotes received will be tabulated and adjusted where appropriate. The quotes with our recommendations will be given to the owner.
- Hire and manage contractors - Once the owner's approval has been received, the contractor will be hired and all work closely monitored. Required or suggested change orders will be discussed with the owner and recommendations given.
- Process paperwork - All paperwork will be tracked and change orders monitored. Progress payments and final payment requests will be viewed for correctness and approved, if appropriate.
Note: Second Homes First only provides Contractor Management Services for smaller type contracts. Contracts requiring architectural and/or engineering work and are performed by several different types of contractors cannot be handled by us.
